I am one of the most highly trained eating disorder
therapists in Australia. Part of my work is training
other eating disorder specialists at places like.
At Sydney Recovery Counselling I genuinly care.
I have been through my own battles and can
relate to yours.
A part of me wants to develop healthier eating habits but there is a strong part of me that does not want to get better. Can you still help me?
Absolutely. In fact this is a very common experience. Something I often discuss with clients is how to develop and build on the part of you that wants to get better. Why choose Sydney Recovery Counselling? Because I Care.
My partner/family member has an eating disorder and will not come to counselling, so what should I do?
It would still be beneficial for you to come to counselling on your own to get some support and so we can work out some strategies to help you deal with them. By you committing to counselling and making a change you will often find that your loved one will be motivated to do the same. Sydney Recovery Counselling genuinely cares.
What qualifications and training do you have?
I have a Bachelor of Psychology and a Masters of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy. My background is psychotherapy which means I am interested in the relationship between myself and my client as I know from experience that is the key to helping my client to create change in the outside world. I have worked in a private psychiatric hospital’s across Sydney and have educated and lectured therapist’s on eating disorder’s. I also specialise in addiction counselling. Why me because i care.
How long does it usually take to book in?
Usually I can book you in for an initial session within one week.
Are the sessions confidential?

In my extensive experience working with women and teenagers to treat eating
disorders, I’ve found there can be an internal battle between the part of you
that wants to recover and the part that doesn’t. I help you trust your better self,
so you can create a meaningful, joyful life that isn’t controlled by food.

Are you the right counsellor for me? It’s a good idea to look at my website which will give you an idea of who I am and how I work. I also offer a phone consultation as a starting point where I can get a sense of what you need help with and you can get a feel for me and if I might be the right counsellor for you. If I feel I can best meet your needs I will book in an initial consultation however if I don’t feel I would be a good fit for you I would be happy to refer you onto someone who would be able to help you.
